„It was new,” Liam Neeson says, sipping green tea at a café near his Manhattan home. “I have never done gay sex”. His face breaks into a smile, causing the crow’s-feet around his eyes to deepen.
Despite displaying a hint of the rascal, Neeson, 52, turn dead earnest when describing the kissing scene between him and Peter Sarsgaard in Kinsey. “I thought I would be more embarrassed about the scene, but I wasn’t. I was glad Bill was the director because Bill’s gay. I said, “Look, Bill, if I am doing anything that’s too hetero, please, just…” And he said, “I sense you’re a wee bit pulling back. The film needs you to be passionate”.
So what’s the difference, for him, in kissing a man?
“I got razor burn,” he says, with another grin. “And it’s not as much fun.”
